Sam Hall is a writer and literature developer.

She studied film as a first degree, then worked in journalism for several years before becoming a member of the Royal Court Young Writers' Programme. This experience led her to study for an MA in creative writing (plays and scripts) at City University. As a journalist Sam has edited and written for a range of music and lifestyle publications and still writes for a number of publications.

As a playwright, her first play (written whilst still at school) won the Six Counties Festival, and more recently her work has been seen at the White Bear (2004), the Landor (2005) and the Etcetera Theatre (2008).

The Londonist, 2008: 'Sea Monsters romped along as a Canterbury Tales-esque story telling session between serving wench and sham-brave knight (...) a charming and well-written little number, embracing the fantastical edge of Turner's work with a light and playful touch.'

As a literature developer, Sam has led workshops in playwriting and leads several writing groups in the Medway towns. She is also working as a dramaturg on a number of short plays and runs successful live literature events in Kent.
